Jamie Baulch, World Champion 400m Athlete

Jamie is a legendary athlete and television presenter from Newport in South Wales.

Jamie excelled as a schoolboy athlete and was also an outstanding trampolinist. He made his international athletics debut for the GB and NI team in 1991 winning the 200m in Salamanca, Spain and breaking the Welsh record in that race, soon afterwards he switched to the 400m and became one of the UK's top athletes and especially dominant indoors where the races are run on shorter 200m tracks.

Jamie has a huge collection of medals and these include winning the 400m gold at the World Indoor Championships in 1999, and he also claimed silver and bronze in 1997 and 2003. Outdoors Jamie was part of the British 4x400m relay team that won the World Championships in 1997 and at the Olympics in 1996 won a silver medal again in the relay, in 2000 he won the individual 400m at the European Cup.

Since his retirement from athletics in 2005 Jamie has become a familiar face in the media with regular appearances on television, his smiling happy demeanour makes him a very popular media personality and Jamie has also developed several successful business enterprises and has launched a very innovative charity fund raising initiative BidAid with huge success.
